Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Elias and Nour were visiting Clearwater Beach from Michigan prior to attending a friends wedding. While swimming Elias jumped into a wave and realized his gold chain he had for 25 years was gone. Nour then realized her gold engagement and wedding rings were also gone from her finger. They went to the lifeguard who directed them to our SRARC website and they contacted Howard Metts who immediately set up a hunt. Rob Clark, Bill Gallant, and Howard Metts were in the surf 2 hours latter conducting a hunt. Howard got a signal in ten minutes and could not get the item due to the waves, his machine stopped working so Rob and Bill took turns searching. Rob found the target and after 6 attempts came up with the beautiful gold chain. The plan was to meet with Elias and Nour the next day to return the chain and hunt for the ring, as they had already left for their friends wedding.

Ring Lost On Davis Island, Florida, Recovered By SRARC

Fitzgerald was playing volleyball in shallow water at the Davis Island Dog Beach in Tampa. As he was driving home, he realized that his platinum wedding band was not on his finger! He felt sure that his ring had come off during his time at the beach, but he was unable to locate it. Months passed (the ring was lost in June!), then Fitzgerald heard about SRARC and Ringfinders. He contacted SRARC’s president, Howard Metts, who in turn arranged for a group of hunters to meet at the site. Fitzgerald watched as Howard Metts, Dimitur Alipiev, Bill Gallant, and Mike Shuler gridded the area with their detectors. After about 30 minutes, Dimitur held up a ring and a jubilant Fitzgerald identified it! The ring had been just out of site under an inch of sand at the water’s edge for nearly four months! We’re glad Fitzgerald never lost hope in finding his ring, and happy to have been able to play a part in its return!

Platinum Band Lost In Tampa, Recovered By SRARC

Marisa stepped outside and noticed the wind had blown a lot of branches and moss onto the lawn, so she decided to do some picking up.  Her fingers were slightly swollen, so she moved her platinum diamond ring to her little finger before starting.  She was shocked and saddened to find the ring was no longer on her finger when she finished her chore.  She found SRARC Ringfinders and contacted Joe Szemer.  A hunt was set up for that afternoon with Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler.  In the end, it was Marisa’s keen eyesight that was responsible for her ring being found…she spotted it in the front lawn and ran to the back yard with it to show Bill and Mike, who were searching there.  We’re grateful for “honorary ringfinder” Marissa’s help, and so happy that she has her beautiful ring back!

Ring Lost On Anna Maria Island, Recovered By SRARC

Sarah and Tyler headed over to Anna Maria Island from Boca Raton to meet two of their College friends, Brenna and Erin, who had traveled from Pennsylvania for a small reunion. They all meet at a local B & B on Holmes Beach and on their first evening together headed out to the beach to watch the sunset. They had set up their chairs and got some drinks out of the cooler when Sarah remembered that she had not removed her engagement ring. She quickly took it off and handed it to her fiancé, Tyler, who put it into his wallet and zipped it closed. They enjoyed the warm evening watching the sunset and reminiscing about their college days. When it came time to go Sarah asked for her ring and Tyler unzipped his wallet and to their surprise it was not in the wallet. They all searched and searched but could not find it in the dry sand. As it began to get dark. Brenna googled “lost ring Anna Maria Island” and up popped SRARC ring finders. She called Joe Szemer who contacted Mike Miller. Mike left immediately for the beach and was soon greeted by the gang. He quickly went to work and within a few minutes had the ring back on Sarah’s finger. When the ring came out of the sand, there was much laughter and many smiles. SRARC is so glad we were able to turn this disaster into a happy memory.

Class Ring Lost, Recovered By SRARC

Tyler was skimming leaves from his swimming pool. As he tossed a handful of leaves, his cherished Texas A&M class ring went flying over the block wall at the back of his property and into the overgrown easement on the other side. Tyler and his wife, Brittany, searched the area for hours but were unable to find the ring. Brittany found SRARC online and the couple contacted Joe Szemer. Ringfinder members Mike and Mary Shuler responded. Tyler wasn’t home, but Brittany indicated where the ring was thought to have gone over the wall. After about 15 minutes, Mike and Mary climbed back into the yard with Mike holding Tyler’s ring! We know from prior phone conversations with Tyler how much this ring means to him, and SRARC is delighted that he’s reunited with it!

Robert was wade fishing on Honeymoon Island when he watched his wedding ring slide off into the water. A neighbortold them to call our club which put them in contact with Howard Metts. Three members from SRARC Ringfinders cameout for the hunt, Dimitur Alipiev, Howard Metts, and Mike Shuler. Robert and his wife guided the hunters to where they thought the ring had come off. Ring Lost On Shell Key, Recovered By SRARC

Marisol & Abdiel came from Kissimmee to enjoy the Gulf Coast for a few days. They joined a few friends on Shell Key to celebrate a birthday and while getting ready to swim Marisol was pulling her shirt off over her head when her new wedding ring flew off and disappeared in the sand. She had received the ring just 27 days earlier in celebration of her Three year anniversary. Luckily, Abdiel saw where the ring flew so they searched in the sand until they had to leave but had no luck. Thinking ahead, Abdiel marked the spot before they left with a stick. Later that evening He googled for lost rings and found SRARC. Joe Szemer made arrangements for Mike Miller to meet them the next morning. Due to the good planning by Abdiel, It took only a couple of minutes for Mike to find and return the ring. The smiles on their faces show the joy they felt to have their precious ring returned. It was SRARC’s pleasure to have been able to help them recover this special ring.

Ring Lost In Tampa Bay Area. Recovered By SRARC.

Sreeraj was jogging near his home when he felt his gold wedding band slip off his finger and saw it fly into the grass next to the path he was on. Sreeraj and his wife spent two hours combing through the grass, but had no luck in recovering the sentimental ring. Sreeraj turned to the internet and located SRARC. He contacted the club’s president, Howard Metts, who put out an announcement to the Ringfinders. Ed Osmar answered the call and arranged for a hunt the next morning. He was joined by Mike Shuler. Sreeraj took Ed and Mike to the spot where the loss occurred, and after just a few swings of the detector, Mike got a strong signal and saw the gold peeking through the grass! The happiness and relief were evident on Sreeraj’s face, and he thanked Ed and Mike several times on the walk back to his residence.

Ring Lost on Clearwater Beach. Recovered By SRARC.

Michael and his friends, Fonzie and Caden, were throwing the ball in waist-deep water at Clearwater Beach. Michael was wearing a gold cross on a chain which was handed down to him by his father, who had received it when he was 16 years old. The chain came off, and as it fell, Fonzie managed to catch it, but the cross fell into the water. All three boys searched until dark, but were unable to locate the heirloom cross. Caden’s parents knew Mike and Mary Shuler were metal detectorists and told them about the situation. Mike responded to the site with fellow detectorist Ed Osmar, but the cross was not found. Mike decided to wait until the evening low tide and invite more help. That’s when Mike Miller, Howard Metts, Bill Gallant, and Mike’s wife, Mary, joined the hunt. After two hours of hunting in the rough water, Mike Miller came up with the cross! We’re very glad that Michael is reunited with this beautiful family heirloom!
