Ring Lost At Honeymoon Island State Park, Recovered By SRARC

Dirk was at Honeymoon Island State Park walking in the water which was full of rocks. His wife brought out his sandals which he put on while in waist deep water and noticed his ring which belonged to his father was no longer on his finger. He found our SRARC website and contacted Howard Metts who setup a hunt. After about 2 hours in rough surf and digging through the rocks, Howard came up with the ring. Dirk was very happy and surprised to see the ring again.

Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Josh and Sydney met up with their friends Michael and Sam at Clearwater Beach to hang out for part of the Memorial Day weekend. They were tossing the football around when Josh felt his tungsten carbide wedding band slip off his finger and disappear into the soft sugar sand. They raked through the sand with their fingers with no luck, then the lifeguard gave Josh the number for the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club. Josh contacted club vice president Joe Szemer who put a notice out to all members of the Ringfinders group. Mike Shuler responded to search the area just after sunset as the crowds were leaving, and found the ring on the third sweep! The next morning Michael and Sam came to Mike’s house to collect their friend’s precious ring, and left a generous donation for the club! We’re very happy that Josh is reunited with his wedding band, especially in light of the fact that he and Sydney were married just a month ago!

Ring Lost In Tarpon Springs, Recovered By SRARC

Mike was rubbing bug lotion off his hands while standing on the dock behind his sailboat. His wife who was in the sailboat heard a small splash and Mike realized he had slid his gold anniversary ring off his finger into the water. They found our SRARC Ring Finders website and contacted Howard Metts. Howard and his wife Jeanine came out two days later with their hookah dive rig to search for the ring in 10-11 feet of water. With zero visibility and 4 inches of silt on the bottom, Howard came up with the ring using his hand held metal detector. Mike and his wife Joselyn were amazed to see the ring again!

Handing the ring off after it was recovered.

Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Elias and Nour were visiting Clearwater Beach from Michigan prior to attending a friends wedding. While swimming Elias jumped into a wave and realized his gold chain he had for 25 years was gone. Nour then realized her gold engagement and wedding rings were also gone from her finger. They went to the lifeguard who directed them to our SRARC website and they contacted Howard Metts who immediately set up a hunt. Rob Clark, Bill Gallant, and Howard Metts were in the surf 2 hours latter conducting a hunt. Howard got a signal in ten minutes and could not get the item due to the waves, his machine stopped working so Rob and Bill took turns searching. Rob found the target and after 6 attempts came up with the beautiful gold chain. The plan was to meet with Elias and Nour the next day to return the chain and hunt for the ring, as they had already left for their friends wedding.

Ring Lost On Honeymoon Island, Recovered By SRARC

Daniella was enjoying the water at Honeymoon Island when she lost her footing and fell forward. She was heartbroken when she realized her wedding ring had come off in the fall. Daniella had an especially strong sentimental attachment to the ring because she had lost her husband of 38 years less than a year earlier. As her family was trying to help her to let the ring go, Daniella learned about Ringfinders. A hunt was scheduled and led by Howard Metts, with Ed Osmar, Bill Gallant, and Mike Shuler joining in the hunt. In less than 5 minutes, Mike had the ring in his scoop. The hugs and tears of joy continued as Daniella thanked the Ringfinders team. We’re very glad Daniella was reunited with this important reminder of her husband.

Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Jordan and Lindsay were visiting Clearwater Beach while on their vacation from Kansas City. Before running into the surf, Jordan removed his platinum wedding band and carefully folded it into his shirt. When it was time to leave Jordan gathered his belongings and headed off the beach. It wasn’t long before he realized his ring was missing, and hours of digging through the sand where his cabana had been proved fruitless. Randy Cooper (Jordan’s father in-law)found the SRARC website and shared it with Jordan and Lindsay, who quickly contacted Joe Szemer. Joe put out the call to the Ringfinders, and Mike Shuler and Bill Gallant met with Jordan at the site about an hour later. Jordan had wisely outlined the area of the loss in the sand, and in less than five minutes, an emotional Jordan was wearing his ring again!

Palm Harbor Lost Ring Recovery

One bright spot in an otherwise sad week.

Joan’s husband passed away just last week and was heartbroken to lose a ring he had given her. She was throwing pine needles off her second story balcony when her ring slipped off her finger.

Family, neighbors, and the yard man all searched in vain.  She was directed to SRARC where a team was assembled.

District Captain Howard Metts, Dimitur Alipiev, and Paul Hill arrived at 2pm sharpe.  Introductions were done as Joan explained where she was standing overhead.  At that point Dimitur turned and said here it is.  The look of astonishment was actually on ALL our faces. Joan fought back the tears and was so thankful to have the ring back. She couldn’t believe it wasn’t found before our arrival. We never took our detectors out of the cars.
This is one of those special times when we know we just made a complete stranger very happy.
