Tyler and his wife came down to Siesta Key from Omaha for a break from the winter weather. On Friday evening they went into the gulf for their last swim before returning home on Saturday morning. They stopped to rest for a moment and as the stood in waist deep water Tyler watched as hi wedding ring slipped from his finger. They searched without finding the ring and finally had to give up. They flew home the next morning and Tyler searched for help and found SRARC. He contacted Joe Szemer and a hunt was organized. After Mike Shuler and Mike Miller hunted on Monday and Tuesday mornings the ring finally turned up in Mike Miller’s scoop. Were happy that we were able to find and return Tyler’s ring and wish he and his wife all the best.

Lost Wedding Band Recovered In Pinellas Park

Mike Shuler met Leland at his home in Pinellas Park to search for the 14K wedding band he lost 2 months earlier. Leland was fairly sure the ring was in a sodded area approximately 15 feet square. After combing the area and finding only trash for 90 minutes, Mike went to Leland’s door to make his apologies. He told Leland that after he left the gated complex, he would make a pass through the hedges on the other side of the fence that abutted the sod. After pushing through the hedges and finding nothing, Mike was headed to his car when he got the hit that was the ring!

Lost Ring Recovered From Lido Beach

I met Laurel, the owner of Island Style Watersports and professional kayak guide at Ted Sterling Park to look for a ring her client lost the day before. According to Laurel, she was guiding a family through a mangrove tunnel when the husband’s kayak overturned.  He didn’t realize his wedding band was gone until returning to land, but Laurel was certain it came off as his hand was grabbing at overhead branches in an attempt to stay on the kayak. It turned out she was right and a few minutes later we were looking at a large white gold band in a scoop full of oyster shells!

Lost Ring Recovered In Bradenton Beach, Florida

Alec was at the beach with family and decided to take a swim and sit down out in the ocean on a shallow area when along came a wave from behind that knocked in to him and pulled his ring off his finger. The entire family came out to help Alec look for his ring. They searched for some time and were amazed how quickly it could disappear and figured it was lost forever. Alec made some mental notes on where he was and googled lost ring and metal detectors on line and came across the SRARC website where he got in contact with Stan Flack. Stan quickly sent out some text to find a team member to try and find Alec’s ring. After some searching, team member Jim Thobe answered the call and agreed to meet Alec at the beach a few days later. Jim searched for a long time and finally was able to scoop and recover the ring from the depths of ocean. An amazed and excited Alec, was all smiles. Great work Jim.

Ring Lost Off Seawall In St. Pete Found And Returned

Newlywed Bill Gandy was out by his sea wall when his wedding ring slid right off his finger, bouncing off the wall and PLUNK right in the water. Bill tried wading in the murky water to try and find his ring and after a short while realized it was futile. After a google search for lost rings recovered in the St. Pete Beach area and metal detectors, Bill found team leader Stan Flack’s phone number and gave him a call. After gathering some information and an address, Stan passed the information on to team member and dock specialist, Joe Szemer. Joe spoke with Bill and made the short drive over to his house meeting up with Bill’s wife. After about 20 minutes of searching, Joe got a signal in one of Bill’s footsteps from his early attempt and sure enough there was Bill’s ring. A very happy Mrs. Gandy was pretty happy to have his ring back. He had only had it for a week and they feared it was certainly long gone. Great work Joe. Those canals and docks are very tricky.
