Ring Lost On Siesta Key Beach, Recovered BY SRARC

Down from Pennsylvania for a Bachelorette party, the bride to be Carly, Erika H her sister, and friends Emily, Erika B, and Tori had gathered on the beach at Siesta Key Beach. They spent the morning enjoying the sun, sand and gulf waters. Around noon Carly was walking along the edge of the surf looking for shells when she felt her engagement ring slide off her finger. She looked down immediately but the ring had already disappeared. The whole group searched and sifted through the sand but could not find it. Then Tori googled and found SRARC ring finders. She contacted Joe Szemer who past the information on to Mike Miller. Mike made arrangements to meet Tori a little later that day and she lead him to the location. After a few sweeps back and forth in the area Mike got a nice hit and up came the ring. Needless to say there was a lot a lot of cheering, hugs, and big smiles. SRARC wishes the best to Carly in her future marriage and is happy to have been a part of her story.

Phone Lost In Siesta Key, Recovered By SRARC

Joe and Judy were down from Nashville, Tennessee spending the winter months at their condo on Siesta Key. As thy were putting away their boat on the lift, Joe leaned over the side and his I-phone slipped out of his pocket and into the sludge at the bottom of the dock. As the news spread at the condo one of their neighbors, who had called SRARC for a lost ring which Mike had recovered in the previous year, told them about our recovery service and they soon found us on the internet. Joe Szemer sent Mike Miller the contact information and he next morning at low tide Mike began the hunt in neck deep water and foot deep bottom muck. After about 15 minutes Mike hit a target but could not retrieve it in his scoop. Changing tactic’s he began pushing his coil under the target and moving it toward the bulk head and shallower water. After several attempts the target stayed on the coil and up came the I-phone. The amazing part is that after 3 days and nights under 6 to 8 feet of salt water all they had to do is clean it up, charge it and it turned right on as if it had never been under water.

Ring Lost On Siesta Key, Recovered By SRARC

Anne’s father was the captain of a submarine during world war II and while stationed in Australia had found a beautiful sapphire stone which he purchased for his wife. Later, while back on duty one night when he surfaced the submarine to recharge the batteries the crew discovered a pilot who had been shot down and rescued him. A few weeks later when the airman departed the submarine for Pearl Harbor Ann’s father gave him the sapphire with a note of love for his wife and asked him to send it to her just in case he never returned from the war. He did return home safely at the end of the war and at that time he took the diamond from Ann’s mother’s engagement ring and together with another purchased diamond he created a new wedding ring including the sapphire from Australia. Ann inherited her mother’s ring 20 years ago and had worn it ever since. While visiting from Rhode Island she and her son, John and daughter-in-law, Simone went to Siesta key beach to enjoy a sunny warm day. While sitting in the sand Anne took the precious wedding ring off, set it on the chair arm to put suntan lotion on her hands and promptly forgot about it. They packed up and went home none the wiser and a few days later she realized the ring was missing. After checking everywhere at their house and in the car she recalled taking it off at the beach. Simone searched the Internet and discovered SRARC ring finders. She made a call to Howard Metz and Howard contacted Mike Miller and arrangements were made to meet the next morning in hopes of finding the ring. Ann and John identified an area of about 100 square feet and Mike went to work. About an hour later Mike got a sweet tone and up came the ring. Needless to say Ann was overjoyed to have such a precious ring returned after believing it was lost forever.

Braclet Lost In Turtle Beach, Recovered By Srarc

Drew joined his mother, father, and brother for a short vacation away from Massachusetts. They met at Turtle Beach on Siesta Key. They headed down to the beach and spent the afternoon playing in the sand and Gulf of Mexico. That morning, Drew had bargained for and purchased a silver bracelet. He wore it proudly to the beach and into the gulf. After rough housing in the water with his dad and brother, he returned to the beach and then noticed he no longer had the bracelet. He spent the next 2 days snorkeling in search of the bracelet but without any luck. His mother did some searching on the internet and finally discovered the SRARC Ring Finders group. Using his mother’s information, he contacted Howard Metts who did a call out for team members. Mike Shuler, Bill Gallant, and Mike Miller answered the call and met Drew the next morning. Drew gave them the perimeters for the hunt and off they went on the search. Mike and Mike headed out to the first sandbar to begin the hunt while Bill began a grid closer in. Mike Miller was a few feet in front of Mike Shuler and had just climbed up onto the sandbar when Shuler held the bracelet up in his hand. Shifty Shuler had done it again, 5 minutes into the hunt and he single handedly turned the hunt into a successful recovery. As we walked back to shore Drew stood up in disbelief and as Mike handed him the bracelet a big smile spread across his face. It is always a great pleasure to be part of a successful recovery and return.

Ring Lost In Siesta Key Intercoastal, Recovered By Srarc

Chuck and his wife were relaxing in chairs on the bulkhead of their Siesta Key Condo watching the boats pass by on the inland waterway. Chuck was leaning forward fidgeting with his wedding ring and it slipped over the end of his finger and out of his hand. The ring bounced once on the concrete bulkhead and dropped into the water. He got a small net and some scuba gear hoping to scrap it up out of the bottom but he had no luck. Later that evening his wife found SRARC Ring Finders and contacted Howard Metts. Howard transmitted a callout and Mike took the challenge, contacted Chuck and arranged to meet him in the 4th of July. It was a very difficult hunt due to a large amount of iron spread throughout area. After about an hour and a half of hunting Mike was able to separate the ring from the iron and out of the deep it came. Now this was a pretty good day for Chuck, he was able to celebrate Independence Day, His 41st wedding anniversary, and the return of his wedding ring originally placed on his finger 41 years ago. He was a very happy man.

Ring Lost ON SIESTA KEY, Recovered By SRARC

Cindy and John came over to Siesta Key from Orlando for a few days to relax and enjoy the sun. They have a condo close to the water and after joining a few friends they all headed to the sandy beach to visit and play in the water. After a short time on the sand Cindy and three of her girlfriends decided to hit the water. As they swam and floated in the water, Cindy felt her wedding ring slide off of her finger. She stopped and stood right where it had fallen. Everyone gathered around her and looked for the ring but it was not to be found. Cindy was heartbroken because after 40 years of marriage, on their anniversary, they had just recently replaced her original wedding set with this new set. Later that evening, after talking with her daughter, her son -in-law told her about the ring finders. She found SRARC on the site and contacted Joe Szemer.  Joe contacted Mike Miller and arrangements were made to do a hunt the next morning. Mike and Dane Trask meet Cindy and John on the beach and got the story of what had happened and the area where the ring had been lost. The hunt was on but there was nothing happening until about 2 hours later. Just as Dane needed to head home, Mike took a couple more swings and got the hit. Needless to say we had a very happy couple and their friends and family when they heard the news that the ring had been found.

Ring Lost On Siesta Key Beach, Florida, Recovered By SRARC

Deb was at Siesta Key beach on a girls weekend enjoying the sun and sand. They laid out their beach towels and helped each other put suntan lotion on for protection. They talked and went for a walk and when they came back one of Deb’s friends grabbed her towel and shook the sand off. There were three rings on the towel and they all flew off in different directions. When they realized what had just happened panic followed as they frantically searched in the sand for the rings and in a short time they had recovered two of the lost rings. They continued to search but with no result. Later, Deb found SRARC Ring Finders on the internet and contacted Howard Metts. When Howard put out the call Mike Miller was just passing through the area and diverted to the lost ring location. After a few minutes of hunting, the ring was found and returned to a very happy Deb.

On Easter Sunday, Gary and a friend decided to go down to the White Sands Cabana Club and enjoy the sand and surf on Siesta Key. After setting up chairs He decided to put some suntan lotion on so he removed his ring and put it into a pocket of the chair. Harma stepped out of her back door on Siesta Key to call her dog back inside. As dogs sometime do, it refused to come in so she went out to wave it in. She waved her hand toward the door and off flew a very precious ring into the night. Harma and her husband both searched the yard but had no luck at all. She remembered that her friend and neighbor Leslie had recently lost a ring and it was recovered by a local group called the SRARC ring finders. She contacted Howard Metts and Mike Miller responded to the callout. Mike searched for about an hour and was loosing hope but decided to change coils and research the area. In short order he got a promising hit and sure enough out came the ring. This was not just any ring, it was her grandfathers wedding band which had been passed down to her and she was just heart broken that she had lost it. If you look closely you will see the wedding date of in Holland of 14/8/15. SRARC is ever so happy to have returned this precious heirloom to Harma.

Ring Lost On Siesta Key, Recovered By SRARC

Susan and Bill arrived on Siesta Key from Rhode Island for a weekend of family reunion to celebrate Bill’s Birthday. Their children, two siblings along with their children and grandchildren were due to arrive the next day for the beginning of the party. They headed out to the beach for some sun and relaxation before the big event commenced. Susan took her freshly cleaned and polished engagement ring off and set it on her chair to put suntan lotion on. They left the chairs to walk down the beach and when they returned, they quickly folded their chairs and towels and returned to their rental. About an hour later Susan realized she had forgotten about her ring. They returned to the beach and searched but it was not to be found. At some point she mentioned the lost ring to the rental homeowner and the owner found The Ring Finders site and sent it to Susan. Susan found SRARC on the site and contacted Howard Mett’s while she was standing in the spot where she thought they had been sitting. Howard contacted Mike who responded and after arriving at the site he found it right where she thought it would be. As the ring was returned, she looked up at him with tears of joy and a great big smile. SRARC hopes that she can now relax and enjoy the upcoming reunion and celebration.
