Mark was cleaning the hull of his boat while on his lift and dropped a sanding block into the water. While reaching for the sanding block his ring slipped off into the dark water. He found our SRARC Ring Finders website and contacted Howard Metts. Jeanine and Howard Metts came out with their dive gear and Blue Nemo hookah. Jeanine tried for 45 minutes with no visibility and found the sanding block. Howard searched for another 45 minutes, got a signal and pulled the ring from the deep muck. Mark and his wife were very grateful to see the wedding ring again! Great job Metts team!

Ring Lost On INDIAN SHORES, Recovered By SRARC

Dylan and Nicole were in town from Denver to visit family and friends, and to hang out at the local beaches. Dylan was standing in the water at Indian Shores Beach throwing the football when his white gold wedding band came off his finger. The search that followed proved unproductive, and an internet search led Dylan to Ringfinders. He contacted SRARC vice president Joe Szemer, who put out a notice about the loss. Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler responded and met Dylan at the site. Dylan stayed as long as he could, but eventually had to leave to meet family in Clearwater. After two hours of unsuccessful hunting, Bill and Mike were getting concerned. They decided to go outside the boundaries of the search zone, and within a few minutes, the ring was found! They contacted Dylan, who rushed back to the beach with Nicole to meet Bill and Mike in the parking lot! The photo shows how excited this wonderful couple was to have their sentimental item back! Since he had to return to Denver the next day, SRARC is especially glad that Dylan could relax and enjoy the last day of his Florida vacation!

Ring Lost On Redington Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Tyler and his large extended family from Indiana were staying at a condo on Reddington Beach, enjoying the Florida sun, sand and surf.  Tyler placed his wedding band on a towel to apply sunscreen, and the next thing he knew, his ring was missing.  Everyone pitched in and raked through the sand with their fingers, but with no success.  While looking online about how to rent a metal detector, they found the site for SRARC and Ringfinders.  Tyler called for assistance, and a notice was sent out to the group.  Bill Gallant and Mike Shuler responded to the site, where Tyler and his family had been keeping careful watch over the area.  In less than five minutes, Mike held his scoop out to Tyler, who saw the ring inside and excitedly plucked it out.  We’re glad to see Tyler reunited with his ring so that he can continue to enjoy his beach vacation!

Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Annie took off her ring and put it in her pocket while applying sun tan lotion. While washing the sand off her feet before leaving she noticed the ring was no longer in her pocket. She called her friend Austin a fireman with Clearwater who contacted Howard Metts. A hunt was set for the next day with Rob Clarke, Dimitur Alipiev, Ed Osmar, Gary Leyland, and Howard Metts attending. Annie was showing us where she sat on the sand when Gary looked down and saw something shiny. He turned his machine on to verify it was metal and produced the ring, most of us never had a chance to turn on our machines! A quick hunt with a very happy ending and a very thankful Annie. Great job team!

Louise and several neighbors had their homes burglarized and a lot of jewelry stolen. After finding several pieces around a community pond, she contacted Howard Metts to arrange a hunt. Dane Trask hunted for about an hour and found and returned many vintage pieces which police verified belonging to Louise’s family. Great job Dane! Hopefully the HOA will allow us to return to continue the search as more items are yet to be found.

Ring Lost On Honeymoon Island, Recovered By SRARC

Evan was tossing the football while standing in waist-deep water at Honeymoon Island Beach. He went to twist his wedding band between his fingers, which he has a habit of doing, and discovered the band was not there! Evan did his best to find the ring, but his efforts fell flat. A couple of weeks later, Evan learned about SRARC and the Ringfinders. He contacted club president Howard Metts, and a hunt was set up. Evan watched as Howard, Dimitur Alipiev and Ed Osmar gridded the area with their detectors while getting pounded by the high tide and big waves. The first attempt was not successful, so Howard scheduled a second hunt after the surf calmed down and the tide was low. Once again Evan was there for moral support. This time Howard was joined by Mike Shuler. The two worked carefully around the big rocks that covered the area and after a little over an hour, Mike had the ring in his scoop! Evan was ecstatic to have his sentimental ring back, and immediately contacted his wife to share the good news!

Ring Lost In The Water, Recovered By SRARC

Olu was feeding the seagulls off his seawall when he watched his ring fly off his finger into the deep water at the end of the dock. He found our SRARC Ringfinders website and contacted Howard Metts who came out the next day with his wife Jeanine to do the underwater hunt. Using a dive tank, hookah rig, and dive gear, along with a small hand held Pulse Dive detector Howard went under to start the search. After the first dive of 10 minutes Howard increased his dive weights to 18 lbs and proceeded on a second dive. After 5 minutes Howard got a signal and came up with the ring. Olu was extremely happy and grateful to see his ring again. Great job team!

Her daughter contacted our SRARC Ringfinders and spoke to Howard Metts who arranged a hunt. Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, and Ed Osmar responded for the hunt. Ring Lost On Siesta Key Beach, Florida, Recovered By SRARC

Deb was at Siesta Key beach on a girls weekend enjoying the sun and sand. They laid out their beach towels and helped each other put suntan lotion on for protection. They talked and went for a walk and when they came back one of Deb’s friends grabbed her towel and shook the sand off. There were three rings on the towel and they all flew off in different directions. When they realized what had just happened panic followed as they frantically searched in the sand for the rings and in a short time they had recovered two of the lost rings. They continued to search but with no result. Later, Deb found SRARC Ring Finders on the internet and contacted Howard Metts. When Howard put out the call Mike Miller was just passing through the area and diverted to the lost ring location. After a few minutes of hunting, the ring was found and returned to a very happy Deb.
