Lost Wedding Band Recovered In Pinellas Park

Mike Shuler met Leland at his home in Pinellas Park to search for the 14K wedding band he lost 2 months earlier. Leland was fairly sure the ring was in a sodded area approximately 15 feet square. After combing the area and finding only trash for 90 minutes, Mike went to Leland’s door to make his apologies. He told Leland that after he left the gated complex, he would make a pass through the hedges on the other side of the fence that abutted the sod. After pushing through the hedges and finding nothing, Mike was headed to his car when he got the hit that was the ring!

    Palm Harbor Lost Ring Recovery

One bright spot in an otherwise sad week.

Joan’s husband passed away just last week and was heartbroken to lose a ring he had given her. She was throwing pine needles off her second story balcony when her ring slipped off her finger.

Family, neighbors, and the yard man all searched in vain.  She was directed to SRARC where a team was assembled.

District Captain Howard Metts, Dimitur Alipiev, and Paul Hill arrived at 2pm sharpe.  Introductions were done as Joan explained where she was standing overhead.  At that point Dimitur turned and said here it is.  The look of astonishment was actually on ALL our faces. Joan fought back the tears and was so thankful to have the ring back. She couldn’t believe it wasn’t found before our arrival. We never took our detectors out of the cars.
This is one of those special times when we know we just made a complete stranger very happy.

Lost Ring Recovered On Redington Shores

Mike and I went to beach where ring was lost Monday and found that a beach re-sanding pipeline had been laid right through the area that we were to hunt, we spent about 2 1/2 hrs hunting both sides of the pipeline and sand that had been moved around because of the pipeline. I called the ring owner and told her that we could not find her ring and why and she said maybe it had fallen out of her purse near the car when she was getting the keys out. She sent me a photo of where the car was parked and I went there and started detecting the grass near where the car was parked, Five minutes later the ring was found. Today she came here from Lakeland and was reunited with her ring, she was very happy and said if we ever need a professional photographer to call her.

Ring Lost And Recovered At Jewfish Key

Rick and his wife Dale had pulled their boat up to a sand bar near Jewfish Island and were enjoying the ankle-deep water and tossing a football. Suddenly Dale realized that her diamond wedding ring that Rick have placed on her finger 17 years ago was missing. They immediately started feeling through the sand and got everyone nearby to help but to no avail the ring was not found.
Later that evening Rick found The Ringfinder website and contacted Tom Jones. Tom sent out a request for hunters to meet Rick at the nearby boat ramp. Tom Jones and Mike Miller met Rick and went out to the sandbar. Once anchored up Rick walked over to a navigational sign and started counting his steps back toward the boat. After 25 steps or so he stopped and said, “it’s right here in this area” while swinging his arms in a circular motion. Mike started hunting from that spot while Tom was asking Rick the normal questions like which way was she facing, is she right or left handed, did she fall. Mike interrupted with the question. ”What does it look like?” as he pulled the ring out of his scoop.
Rick immediately called Dale to give her the good news that her precious lost ring was found.

Lost Ring Recovered In Shell Key

Some friends and I were enjoying a Saturday boat outing on Shell Key. Everything was going well… until that “moment.” We were getting ready to head back and the boat driver asked “Hey Matt, can you hop out and grab that anchor?” I immediately jumped off the boat, grabbed the anchor and swam to the back of the boat to get back on board. I was standing on the swim platform and spun to the left to grab the other anchor. That’s when the “moment,” happened. I saw my wedding band slide off my finger and into the ocean below. I immediately yelled “Shut off the engine,” and jumped into the water frantically diving below to search for my ring. After about an hour of searching, I returned to the boat and called 5 local dive shops to see if they could send out a diver to search for the ring. They were all skeptical with the typical response being “There’s no way we’re going to find it, I’m sure the currents would have taken the ring, it could be hundreds of feet from where you originally dropped it.” I started to lose hope and could not stop dwelling on the thought that one of the most meaningful items I would ever own would be lost forever.
I didn’t give up and continued to call local dive shops. After a few more calls and no luck I started googling looking for help. That’s when I stumbled across The Ring Finders website which led me to reach out to the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club. I initially reached out to Howard who took my call while he was meeting with a client. I explained the situation to him and he reached out to the club to find some volunteers to help recover the ring. Later in the evening I received a call from Joe, who helped plan the hunt. We decided to meet at Tierra Verde marina on Sunday at 3PM so that they could search during low tide. Sunday came around and 3 hunters showed up, Joe, Tom and Ed. Slowly, the remorse and feelings of despair turned to hope as there were 3 hunters with over 40 years of collective experience helping to find my ring.
They searched for about an hour and a half with no luck. Ed started following me as I was in the water searching with my feet. After about another half hour, Ed looked up and said “I’m not sure if this yours, but I found one.” I raced over to him and looked at the ring. To my amazement he had found it. The feeling in that moment is hard to describe, but I can tell you it was one of the best moments of my life. I will forever be thankful to the SRARC, Ed, Tom, Joe and Howard. The entire experience of dealing with them was amazing and these guys are some of the most altruistic people I have ever met.
