Wedding Ring Lost, Found and Returned at Siesta Key Beach, Florida

Kyla and Kyle were on a family vacation at Siesta Key from North Carolina. Kyla shared with Mike and I the family members on their trip were having a streak of bad luck. Their turn came at 3 PM on Saturday when Kyle was swimming in the gulf. Kyle was out in the gulf throwing a ball around and at one point digging for shells. Kyle had the location we should search locked down in his mind and came out into the gulf to show Mike and I the areas to hunt. Mike and I searched the chest to waist deep water first as that is where Kyle felt he lost the ring.

After searching the depths for a good while in the rough surf we decided to make our way closer to the beach as Kyle felt there was a possibility he lost it there.  As Mike and I were making our way over a sand bar I got a strong hit. Two scoops later up came Kyle’s ring. Kyle’s ring was unique; it has a sapphire on the inside of the band. Kayla explained it is there for good luck

Wedding Ring Lost at Ceremony Found and returned at Redington Beach, Florida

April and Tony came to Florida from Michigan to have a Beach Wedding and were joined by their families on Redington Beach just before sundown for the ceremony. As the ring bearer was making his way to the alter one of the rings fell off the pillow that he was carrying. The ceremony continued without the ring and afterwards someone brought a rake and started searching for the ring. Meagan one of the wedding planners, looked up the Ringfinders knowing that they had helped another couple find a lost ring two years ago on Sunset Beach. She called Tom Jones and asked if anyone could get there before dark to search for the ring. Tom and Joe headed out immediately and called Stan Flack to see if he could help with the hunt.
Upon arrival they ask what metal the ring was made of and got several answers from the family. Some said Silver, White gold and the most common answer was platinum. They started hunting the path that the wedding party had walked but did not find the ring. After expanding the search farther back on the path Tom got a good gold signal and up came the “14 K White Gold” ring. The Bride and Groom were busy with the Wedding Photographer getting pictures as the sun was setting but took time out to show how grateful they were that the ring was found.

COAST TO COAST HELPING HAND LEADS TO LOST RING RETURN

Rajesh was at a friend’s apartment complex in Oldsmar, FL playing volleyball when he felt his ring come off his finger during a serve. He and his friends looked in the sand where they thought it had landed for a long time and finally gave up. Rajesh googled lost ring and found The Ring Finders web page where he then contact Southern California Ring Finder member Steve Smith who was clearly way too far from Tampa, Florida to search. Steve’s quick thinking had him look up a more local hunter and he in turn passed Rajesh on to SRARC and Ring Finder member Stan Flack. Stan then contacted the nearest SRARC team member Howard Metz to help Rajesh in Oldsmar. It was already too late in the day so the two decided to meet the next day right after lunch. After getting a few more details of the events, Howard went right to work and within 10 minutes, a very relieved Rajesh was reunited with his ring. Hugs and smiles all the way around. Good work Howard and a shout out to Steve Smith for passing Rajesh along to us so we could reunite him with his cherished ring. Nice work everyone, that’s what it’s all about.

Signet Ring Lost, Found, and Returned in Tampa, Florida

Randy went down to a neighborhood pond to see if he could cast net some bait for a fishing trip. He got all setup to throw his first cast, let it go and heard a thump as the net flew through the air. He checked his finger for the gold signet ring his grandmother had given to him just before she passed away. His worst fear was verified when he saw it was no longer on his finger. He spent the next several hours looking in the grass around the area and finally decided it must have gone into the water. After googling for metal detector rental he found SRARC and contacted Mike Miller. Mike scheduled a hunt for the next day and Mark Sillence and Randy met him at the location at 10:30 am. Mark was geared up for the water so he started hunting there and Mike started to cover the bank above the water. In about 15 minutes Mike got a good signal, looked down, and there it was in plain sight. Randy was overjoyed and grinning ear to ear. SRARC is always happy to put a cherished ring back on its owner’s finger.

Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Madeira Beach, Florida

Bobby and his new bride were spending their final day on the beach in Madeira Beach with Bobby’s parents. Bobby decided to go for a swim and took his wedding ring off and put it on his towel before going into the ocean. Once Bobby got back to his trowel he picked it up and shook it off to dry off and just then remembered his ring was on the Towel. The family frantically searched the sand with their hands to no avail. Bobby’s mom, Louise searched the internet for a metal detector when she came across the SRARC web page. Louise gave Stan Flack a call and arrangements were made to meet within the next 30 minutes. Upon arrival, Stan was given a quick download on the tragic events and went to work. After a few passes, Stan got a clear signal and sure enough, there was Bobby’s ring. All were very relieved since Bobby had only had the ring a few months and was heading out in the morning back to New Jersey. One happy guy. Noo ne wants to start out in the dog house. Smiles and hugs around!

Brand New Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Madeira Beach, Florida

Stan and Linda Flack got a call from a friend whose son Kyle lost his wedding ring off their dock last Sunday. They had just attended his wedding in February so you can imagine how upset he was. One attempt was done but it was windy, cold and too deep. Second trip had a little less wind and lower tide, bingo. Return number 52 for Stan and it was a tough one. Had to take 2 cracks at this one which landed in what felt like chocolate pudding. In the end, it found its way into his scoop.
Way to stay at it Stan…Dock hunts are extremely tough!

Platinum Wedding Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Madeira Beach, Florida

Erik and his family were enjoying a game of volleyball on Madeira Beach when his wife felt her Platinum 3 ring set slip off her finger. They gathered to whole family around the area and started searching for the rings. One of the group happened to see something shining which was the post and diamond of the engagement ring. After this they started searching with small sifters and found a second ring. They had no luck finding the third. Erik asked someone to google metal detectors and one of the members found a detector APP and downloaded that and hunted with his phone. Then they searched for metal detectors that they could buy. In that search they came across theringfinders.com and called SRARC, talked to Mike Miller then called Tom Jones. Tom agreed to meet them at the beach after dinner. He and Joe Szemer headed out and met up with Erik and his son Jackson. Erik led them to the volleyball court and drew a square in the sand where the first two rings were found and hopefully the third would be found. Tom and Joe started hunting and within minutes the ring was in Tom’s scoop and returned to Erik. Jackson wanted to go back to the condo and trick his mother into thinking that the ring was not found. “Not Recommended”.

Heirloom Pendant Lost, Found and Returned in Tampa, Florida

Chelsea spent the day in her backyard, first creating a small garden and then preparing the rest of the area for grass. She finally finished the prep work and seeded the area. She got out the hose and hand water everything and then as she was putting away the hose she noticed her necklace was broken. When she checked she found that the gold pendant with an image of Jesus on it that her grandfather had given to her for safe keeping was gone. Her grandfather had worn the pendant his whole life and when he recently was confined to the hospital he wanted her to keep it safe for him. When she discovered it was lost she was devastated. She got down on her hands and knee’s and cried as she searched for hours. When she did not find it, she decided she needed to rent a metal detector. When she googled “metal detector rental” SRARC came up and she called Mike Miller. Mike explained that we do not rent metal detectors but we would be happy to come out and search for the pendant. Mike call for a hunt the next day and Wayne Cree agreed to meet him at the site. Wayne and Mike searched for about 5 minutes and then Mike got a good hit close to where the new garden was. Sure enough it was the pendant. Chelsea was so relieved and happy she gave us a big hug and a giant smile. SRARC is so happy to have returned this special keepsake to Chelsea and we wish her grandfather a quick and complete recovery.

Heirloom Engagement Ring Lost, Found, and Returned at Pass-A-Grille Beach, Florida

John, Christine and their family were visiting from Stone Mountain, Georgia. Sunday afternoon they were enjoying a day on the beach, Christine was in the water throwing a football when she felt her ring come off. She screamed out that she had lost her ring. Her daughter saw the ring fly through the air and into the water.
The ring she had just lost was a family heirloom that John had given here upon their engagement. The whole family and and friends started searching frantically for the ring but to no avail. John decided to search for professional help and his google search led him to theringfinders.com website and eventually to SRARC. He called Tom Jones and asked for help. Tom called Joe Szemer and immediately headed out to the beach. Upon arrival they met up with John, Tom headed to the beach with a detector and Joe stared the arduous task of finding a parking spot.
Tom went into the water with John and Christine to the location that they felt the ring should be. Tom told Christine to stand in that spot and not move so he could use her as a reference point. He circled around her and John and gridded the area first east and west then north and south. After 30 minutes Joe finally enters the water to start hunting as he is searching his way out toward Christine, Tom noticed Christine heading to the beach with her head down and her face in her hands. As she walked away Joe moved into the spot she was standing and got a target. After a couple of scoops he looked up at John and asked “What does the ring look like?” It was in his scoop. A scream was let out and everyone came running out into the water.
