Ring Lost On Anna Maria Island, Recovered By SRARC

Billy and Amanda were visiting Anna Maria Island along with close friends David and Angie on their annual trip from Kentucky. They headed to the beach for their last day of vacation and were enjoying the sun when David and Angie decided to take a little dip into the gulf. Angie had been careful to not to wear her custom made ring created from the rings and diamonds of three very special people in her life to the beach. The first was her favorite of her Mom’s (which her Dad gave to her after her Mom passed), the second ring was from her brother/sister-in-law when she graduated from University of Louisville, and the third was an anniversary ring from her husband. The ring had always reminded her of how much she was loved by her family and blessed to have them in her life. But on this last day of vacation she decided to wear it. They went out into the gulf to chest deep water and cooled off and when they got back out of the water Angie noticed her ring was missing. They all went back out into the water and searched but could not find it. Billy searched Google and found SRARC Ring Finders. He contacted Joe Szemmer who sent Mike Miller to meet them at the beach. By the time Mike reached their location the tide had moved in enough that Mike decided to delay the search until the next morning. The group had to leave early the next morning so Mike went at dawn but didn’t find the ring in time so Angie and David had to leave without the ring. Billy was flying his own airplane so he checked in with Mike at about 8:30 am but still no ring so he headed for the airport. About 30 minutes later up came the ring. Mike called Billy and he was just arriving at the airport. He decided to delay his flight and he and Amanda met Mike half way and the ring was returned for a private flight back to its owner. It is always such a pleasure to see the smiles and joy when we can return a special lost ring.

Ring Lost On Holmes Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Ashlyn and a friend drove down to Holmes beach from Ruskin to spend a day on the gulf. Ashlyn took off a silver Claddagh ring that her grandmother had worn and then gifted it to her and placed it just under the sand so she wouldn’t lose it in the water. She then placed her sandals over it so she could retrieve it later. After the day was done, they packed up their things and headed off the beach. Before they reached the parking lot Ashlyn remembered her ring and they returned to their spot and searched but could not find it. A group that was sitting next to them helped in the search but to no avail. They did suggest that there were groups that would come and search with metal detectors and after getting home Ashlyn told her mom, Cristin, who found SRARC ring finders. Robert Velarde put her in touch with Mike Miller. The next morning Mike went to the area Ashlyn pointed out on google earth and started the search. In about five minutes the ring came out of the sand and shortly thereafter it was back on Ashley’s finger. Everyone went home with a big smile on their faces.

Wedding Ring Lost On Anna Maria Island, Recovered By SRARC

Evan, Savana, and their daughter Bristol came down with cousins from Augusta, Georgia to Anna Maria Island for a week of Sun and Fun. They were at a gulf side beach enjoying the calm water when the boys decided to throw a football back and forth. When they returned to the beach and sat down Evan felt for his wedding ring and “oh no” it wasn’t there. Evan remembered that on one of his catches his ring finger got jammed and he figured that was when it must have come off. The whole group looked for about a half an hour and decided there was no way they would find it. The next day they were talking with some locals who suggested they look on Google for a group that could help hunt with metal detectors. Savana found SRARC and called Robert Velarde who contacted Mike Miller. Mike made arrangements to meet them the next afternoon at low tide and then the hunt was on. Given the approximate area that Evan was standing, Mike started searching. About twenty minutes later Mike heard the sweet sound of a good target and sure enough the glint of gold showed up in his scoop. What a pleasure to see all the smiles as Mike returned the ring to Evan. Always a great day when you get find and return something that is cherished by its owner and family.
