Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Bill was enjoying Clearwater Beach with a group of his coworkers. After spilling a drink on his hands, they became sticky and sand got under his wedding band. He removed it to wash his hands and didn’t realize until much later that he no longer had the ring with him! After returning to the site and raking through the sand with no luck, he turned to the internet to look into renting a metal detector. While he was searching, he discovered SRARC. He got in touch with club president Howard Metts, who put out a notice to the club’s Ringfinder members. Rob Clarke and Mike Shuler arranged to meet Bill at the spot where he remembered setting down his ring. Rob and Mike started gridding the area, and in less than 10 minutes, Bill was reunited with his ring!

Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Josh and Sydney met up with their friends Michael and Sam at Clearwater Beach to hang out for part of the Memorial Day weekend. They were tossing the football around when Josh felt his tungsten carbide wedding band slip off his finger and disappear into the soft sugar sand. They raked through the sand with their fingers with no luck, then the lifeguard gave Josh the number for the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club. Josh contacted club vice president Joe Szemer who put a notice out to all members of the Ringfinders group. Mike Shuler responded to search the area just after sunset as the crowds were leaving, and found the ring on the third sweep! The next morning Michael and Sam came to Mike’s house to collect their friend’s precious ring, and left a generous donation for the club! We’re very happy that Josh is reunited with his wedding band, especially in light of the fact that he and Sydney were married just a month ago!

Don and his wife were vacationing on Clearwater Beach when Don realized his wedding ring was missing. He had been in the water but may have lost it on the beach while in the dry sand. They were given our SRARC Ringfinder info from the Life Guard on duty and contacted Howard Metts several days latter. A hunt was scheduled with Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, Joe Montione, Pat Montione, and Ed Osmar responding. They hunted the dry sand for an hour with no luck. The team hunted the water for another hour before Howard came up with the ring. Howard mailed the ring to Seattle Washington and Don sent back a photo with the ring back on his finger again. Rob Clarke, Howard Metts, Joe Montione, Pat Montione, and Ed Osmar hunted for well over an hour. Annie took off her ring and put it in her pocket while applying sun tan lotion. While washing the sand off her feet before leaving she noticed the ring was no longer in her pocket. She called her friend Austin a fireman with Clearwater who contacted Howard Metts. A hunt was set for the next day with Rob Clarke, Dimitur Alipiev, Ed Osmar, Gary Leyland, and Howard Metts attending. Annie was showing us where she sat on the sand when Gary looked down and saw something shiny. He turned his machine on to verify it was metal and produced the ring, most of us never had a chance to turn on our machines! A quick hunt with a very happy ending and a very thankful Annie. Great job team!

Tobias and his wife Imke were spending a day on Clearwater Beach. When they got home he noticed his ring was missing. The police were called to report the ring missing and the officer on duty suggested they call our SRARC Ring Finder group. Howard Metts received a text and set up a hunt. Bill Gallant, Howard Metts, and Ed Osmar hunted for 30 minutes before Bill came up with the ring just outside the search area. As you can see from the expression on Imke, she was amazed and overjoyed that her husband’s ring was found. This will be a very Merry Christmas for them with a story they can tell family and friends.

Ring Lost On Honeymoon Island, Recovered By SRARC

Evan was tossing the football while standing in waist-deep water at Honeymoon Island Beach. He went to twist his wedding band between his fingers, which he has a habit of doing, and discovered the band was not there! Evan did his best to find the ring, but his efforts fell flat. A couple of weeks later, Evan learned about SRARC and the Ringfinders. He contacted club president Howard Metts, and a hunt was set up. Evan watched as Howard, Dimitur Alipiev and Ed Osmar gridded the area with their detectors while getting pounded by the high tide and big waves. The first attempt was not successful, so Howard scheduled a second hunt after the surf calmed down and the tide was low. Once again Evan was there for moral support. This time Howard was joined by Mike Shuler. The two worked carefully around the big rocks that covered the area and after a little over an hour, Mike had the ring in his scoop! Evan was ecstatic to have his sentimental ring back, and immediately contacted his wife to share the good news!

Ring Lost At Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Elias and Nour were visiting Clearwater Beach from Michigan prior to attending a friends wedding. While swimming, Elias jumped into a wave and realized his gold chain he had for 25 years was gone. Nour then realized her gold engagement and wedding rings were also gone from her finger. They went to the lifeguard who directed them to our SRARC website and they contacted Howard Metts who immediately set up a hunt. Rob Clark, Bill Gallant, and Howard Metts were in the surf 2 hours latter conducting a hunt. Howard got a signal in ten minutes and could not get the item due to the waves, his machine stopped working so Rob and Bill took turns searching. Rob found the target and after 6 attempts came up with the beautiful gold chain. The plan was to meet with Elias and Nour the next day to return the chain and hunt for the ring, as they had already left for their friends wedding.
