Ring Recovery On Honeymoon Island State Park

Audrey was visiting with her inlaws and went to the beach on Honeymoon Island State Park and realized her wedding ring was missing when she was leaving. Her father inlaw Mike was with her and alerted the park ranger who had them call Howard Metts to help.

The next day Howard Metts and Dimitur Alipiev met (Mike) at the beach. Audrey was in the water throwing a ball when the ring slipped off her finger. After about an hour of searching, Dimitur Alipiev heard a good target and came up with the ring. Mike watched us coming in from the water and assumed we were giving up the search. Upon seeing the ring he was amazed we could find it after a day in the water and very Greatful. Howard texted a picture to a very happy Audrey who was on her way home to North Carolina. Great job Dimitur on the recovery!

Happy Ending At Honeymoon Island

Jordan and Nick were having a great time on the beach at Honeymoon Island and decided to get some food. After walking away Jordan realized her 3 rings were missing and walked back to their beach spot to search the sand. They were able to find 2 of the rings, but the engagement ring eluded them. They contacted the Ranger and we’re told to call Howard Metts. Twenty minutes later HOWARD arrived at the beach and was able to find the ring in less than a minute. What a great way to end a Sunday afternoon.

Cheerleader loses wedding ring set in oldsmar

Christi leads a cheerleading team in Oldsmar, Florida.  On Wednesday night, prior to practice, she had removed her wedding band and engagement ring and set it on top of her bag.  With darkness falling and practice over, the girls grabbed their bags. Christi gets to her car and reality steps in !!!  My rings !!! Racing back to the corner of the field, no rings were found.

On Thursday, Ryan, her husband was able to borrow a metal detector at work.  Four hours of gridding and searching delivered a big, fat goose egg.

Ryan did some internet searching and was lead to the Suncoast Research and Recovery Club and their team of Ring Finders.  Mark Prue got the call from Ryan on Friday and the three agreed to meet in Oldsmar the following morning.

After dodging a disc golf tournament, dog walkers and a cricket match in progress, Mark started searching the area.  The second target Mark came across found his XP Deus screaming GOLD !!  A quick search with the pinpointer confirmed it.  He pulled the grass aside and there it was !!! He called Christi over, told her to look here …..hugs and tears ensued !!! Another return for the Ring Finders !!

GPS HELPS RECOVER LOST ENGAGEMENT RING ON THREE ROOKER ISLAND

Steve & Audrey took their boat to Three Rooker Island to spend a relaxing day. As Audrey was getting out of the boat, her engagement ring fell into the water! Quick thinking Steve hit the “man overboard” button on the boat’s GPS and marked the spot.  Steve found the SRARC website, contacted Tom Jones who passed the information on to Howard Metts.  Two days later, Howard, Jeanine Metts, Ed Osmar and Dimitur Alipiev met with Steve on the boat ramp for a ride to the island.  Using the GPS, Steve was able to position the boat very closely to where Audrey had lost the ring.  After about ten minutes of water hunting, Howard got a good signal and the ring was in his scoop! Steve was ecstatic, and immediately called Audrey who was overjoyed her ring was found! Great teamwork everyone!

Young assistant recovers lost ring in Clearwater Beach.

Arizona couple, Michael and his wife Katlyn, were spending vacation time in Clearwater Beach.  While tossing a ball in the water at the hotel’s private beach, Katlyn dove for the ball and sadly watched her wedding band fall off into the water. Michael found our club online and contacted Tom Jones, who passed on the information to Howard Metts. Howard called Michael and set up a time to meet before they left for the airport.

Howard started hunting in the area he was directed to hunt in (chest to neck deep water) and retrieved three targets, but not the ring.  Connor, who was visiting from Michigan with his family, was swimming in the search area with goggles.  After an hour of hunting and just before Mike and Kat were to leave for home, Connor popped up and said “is this what your looking for”?  In his hand was the ring Howard had been searching for!  Mike and Kat were very grateful for Howard’s efforts and to young Connor for coming up with the ring.  Nice work, Connor! You may have just found yourself a lifetime hobby, too!   Thanks for helping.

Nicole and Darren were playing catch in the water on Honeymoon Island, enjoying the Fourth of July weekend. Darren had his ring hand in the water and threw the ball with the opposite hand. After a time, the platinum wedding band slid off his hand into the water.  Nicole helped him search for the ring, to no avail.   Nicole found the SRARC website on her phone and contacted Howard Metts, to see if he could help. After receiving permission from the park ranger, Howard Metts and Dimitur Alipiev met Nicole and Darren at the beach and three hours later, started the search for the ring. The hunt lasted for over an hour before Howard finally found a good target, which turned out to be the ring! Signet Ring Lost, Found, and Returned in Tampa, Florida

Randy went down to a neighborhood pond to see if he could cast net some bait for a fishing trip. He got all setup to throw his first cast, let it go and heard a thump as the net flew through the air. He checked his finger for the gold signet ring his grandmother had given to him just before she passed away. His worst fear was verified when he saw it was no longer on his finger. He spent the next several hours looking in the grass around the area and finally decided it must have gone into the water. After googling for metal detector rental he found SRARC and contacted Mike Miller. Mike scheduled a hunt for the next day and Mark Sillence and Randy met him at the location at 10:30 am. Mark was geared up for the water so he started hunting there and Mike started to cover the bank above the water. In about 15 minutes Mike got a good signal, looked down, and there it was in plain sight. Randy was overjoyed and grinning ear to ear. SRARC is always happy to put a cherished ring back on its owner’s finger.

School Ring Lost, Found, and Returned on Clearwater Beach, Florida

During the month of October 2016, SRARC Ring Finders member Mark Sillence was metal detecting at Clearwater Beach, Florida and in one foot of water obtained a strong signal. Up from the scoop, laid a beautiful school ring with a genuine ruby center gemstone. Mark obtained the following information from the ring: Rugby; State Champion; and bearing the name of Dani Dieringer. Browsing the web, Mark obtained Dani’s Facebook page and left her a message. However, it did not appear Dani was on Facebook that often. Mark continued his search and located the web site of the Rugby Team and contacted one of the coaches whom in turn, reached out to Dani. Dani stated that while enjoying the sun at the beach on September 21, 2016, she lost the ring while in the water. The ring was subsequently returned to a very happy Dani, whom thought the ring was forever lost.
