Ring Lost On Honeymoon Island, Recovered By SRARC

Daniella was enjoying the water at Honeymoon Island when she lost her footing and fell forward. She was heartbroken when she realized her wedding ring had come off in the fall. Daniella had an especially strong sentimental attachment to the ring because she had lost her husband of 38 years less than a year earlier. As her family was trying to help her to let the ring go, Daniella learned about Ringfinders. A hunt was scheduled and led by Howard Metts, with Ed Osmar, Bill Gallant, and Mike Shuler joining in the hunt. In less than 5 minutes, Mike had the ring in his scoop. The hugs and tears of joy continued as Daniella thanked the Ringfinders team. We’re very glad Daniella was reunited with this important reminder of her husband.

Ring Lost On Passage Key, Recovered By SRARC

Rachel and John were down from Ocala for a short weekend break on Anna Maria Island. They had their boat with them and headed out to Passage Key to catch some sun and water time. They pulled up on the North end of the key, anchored, and jumped out of the boat to hit the beach. Then they saw the sign that designated the whole island a preserve where you are not allowed onto the beach. They backed into the water and began tossing a football back and forth. They had become engaged just one year earlier and the ring had still not been sized correctly. Well just as you may have guessed, the ring flew off Rachel’s hand as the ball hit it. They frantically searched for several hours but to no avail. Their heads hung down they returned to their rental unit and spent a sad evening and restless night worrying about the loss. The next morning Rachel found SRARC on Google and contacted them. Mike Miller responded and set up a hunt for later that day. Mike met them and Rachel’s brother Kyle at their rental and they all headed out in the boat for the recovery mission. As they anchored the boat, Mike was looking around and much to his surprise discovered all the people around them were naked!!!!!!! He quickly jumped out of the boat thinking “I wonder what it is like to metal detect naked”, but quickly put his head down and went to work. As he worked Mike was thinking “Wow I wonder if they were throwing the football naked”. After a short time they made it clear that they were just as surprised the day before and had anchored as far away from the nudies as possible. Mike searched for about three hours and was getting close to calling it a day when he heard the sweet sound of platinum. When he dug the target, up came a beautiful 2 caret diamond ring. He turned to look at the boat where the others were listening to the Buck’s game and saw that Rachel was watching him. As Mike started walking toward the boat Rachel’s heart sunk for a moment thinking that he was done hunting, but then she yelled “did you find it” and Mike nodded his head yes. Mike has never seen two people get off a boat and into the water so fast. John and Rachel both raced toward him and he could see nothing but great big smiles on their faces. Mike got lots of hugs and smiles which is why we do this small service. SRARC wants to wish John and Rachel nothing but the best for their future life together. It was our pleasure to make their last night on their short break a happy one.

Ring Lost On Clearwater Beach, Recovered By SRARC

Jordan and Lindsay were visiting Clearwater Beach while on their vacation from Kansas City. Before running into the surf, Jordan removed his platinum wedding band and carefully folded it into his shirt. When it was time to leave Jordan gathered his belongings and headed off the beach. It wasn’t long before he realized his ring was missing, and hours of digging through the sand where his cabana had been proved fruitless. Randy Cooper (Jordan’s father in-law)found the SRARC website and shared it with Jordan and Lindsay, who quickly contacted Joe Szemer. Joe put out the call to the Ringfinders, and Mike Shuler and Bill Gallant met with Jordan at the site about an hour later. Jordan had wisely outlined the area of the loss in the sand, and in less than five minutes, an emotional Jordan was wearing his ring again!

Lost Ring Recovered in Sarasota

Joe was out on the back porch in Sarasota doing a barbeque and as he finished up he walked over to the doggy pool  bent over and rinsed his hands. When he stood up he heard a tink sound and then thought he felt his Class ring fall off. He looked at his hand and sure enough it was gone. He spent the next thee weeks looking every night for his ring. He finally heard about the SRARC ring finders and contacted Joe Szemer. Joe contacted Mike Miller and arrangements were made for a hunt that afternoon. After 4 or five trips over the small area that it should have been in with no hits, Mike and Joe thought that maybe it fell between the boards on the deck. Mike decided to go over the area one more time and a promising hit popped up. Joe bent over and parted the grass and with a big grin came up with his ring. It was great to see his smile and excitement having it back on his hand.

Lost Ring Recovered at the Tradewinds on St Pete Beach

Bill and Jenn were staying at the Tradewinds on St Pete Beach to attend the Buc’s Beach Bash this weekend. On Sunday evening they were out on the beach enjoying the events when Bill needed to cool down so he went into the shallow water and sat down in a couple of places. Later that evening he discovered his wedding ring was missing. The next morning he contacted SRARC and a hunt was scheduled. Tim Vorkink happened to be in the area when he received the callout and went right over and met Bill. Tim only had a land machine with him so he covered the area where they had been on the beach. He did not find it so we scheduled a water hunt for later that afternoon. Joe Szemer, Bill Gallant, and Mike Miller met Bill and he showed us the area he was cooling off. Joe took about six steps and up came the ring. We were all smiles and Bill was overjoyed. Another Great day for SRARC ring finders.

Lost Ring Recovered On Treasure Island

Reed and Katie, married just four days ago in Illinois, were on the beach at Treasure Island enjoying their honeymoon. Reed put suntan lotion on his arms and hands then stood to cover the rest of his body. As his hands dropped to his side he felt his wedding ring slip off of his finger. They looked thru the sand for an hour or so but could just not find it. Katie found the Ring Finders on the web and contacted SRARC. Mike sent a callout and then proceeded to drive up to Treasure Island when there was no response. Reed and Katie were still at the location and within a minute Mike found the missing ring. They were all smiles when the ring was returned to Reed’s finger and we at SRARC want to wish them a long and happy marriage.

Bean Point, Anna Maria Island Lost Ring

Jon and family were down from Ohio for another vacation at their favorite spot on Bean Point, Anna Maria Island. Last year in November they were in the same area and Jon lost his wedding ring. This year he was being careful and took his new ring off and put on their blanket. After a few hours enjoying the beach they returned to the blanket, packed up their things and shook the sand out of the blanket. Oh no they forgot about his ring and now he had lost another wedding ring to the sands of Anna Maria Island. On returning home to Ohio, Jon found SRARC on the web and contacted us on the outside chance someone had found his ring. He provided a Google Earth map with approximate locations for both rings. Mike got the call and thought it was a long shot but decided to try for the recently lost ring anyway. Apparently Jon is a darn good guesser because after getting a few more details Mike was able to recover his ring in about 5 minutes. Mike is wondering if the second ring will be so easy. All our best to Jon for the return of his ring.

Lost Ring Anna Maria Island

Jeff and Debbie came down to the gulf coast from central Florida for a quick break before the start of the college school year. Jeff is a professor of accounting at College of Central Florida and wanted to start the new year rested and ready to hit it hard. One afternoon they decided to go out to Bean Point to enjoy the sun and gulf. They set up their chairs and prepared for the intense sun buy applying suntan lotion. Debbie removed her rings and dropped them into the cup built into her chair. She applied her lotion and promptly forgot about her rings. When it came time to leave they folded everything up and headed for the pickup. Later that night as Debbie was laying in bed she panicked when realized her rings were not on her fingers and a sleepless night followed. The next morning, they returned to search but had no luck. They googled “lost ring Anna Maria” and SRARC Ring Finders popped up. They contacted us and soon a hunt was organized, and Mike Miller met them at the site. Jeff laid out where he thought they were sitting and in less than two minutes the rings were back onto Debbie’s fingers.  There were lots of smiles and hugs and Mike even got a “I love you” from Debbie. After a sleepless night they can return to relaxing without a gloom and doom cloud over their vacation. It was a great pleasure to see the smiles return to Jeff and Debbie’s faces.
