Gabriel and his wife were down from Virgina visiting his close friend Caleb and his family. They all packed up and went to Lido Beach for a fun day in the sun and surf. Gabriel was out in about knee-deep water tossing a football back and forth with Caleb. As Gabriel reached to catch the ball it hit his hand and off shot his wedding ring. They all looked for the ring but had no luck. Caleb remembered that there was a group that would search for lost rings and soon found SRARC ring finders with a google search. Graham was visiting Longboat Key from the University of Kentucky for spring break when he lost two necklaces with pendants. He was out on the beach with his friends, and he put the two necklaces in a beach bag so he would not lose them. After a day in the sun the group picked up their things and headed back to their condo. Graham noticed right away that his necklaces were missing. He bought a metal detector and searched the area that they had been on at the beach but had no luck. He finally called his mom and gave her the sad news. Later that evening she found SRARC Ring Finders and gave him the contact information. Graham contacted Robert Velarde and Robert passed the info onto Mike Miller. Mike set up a meeting up with Graham and they met at the site. After searching for about 10 minutes Mike found both necklaces. They had fallen out of the beach bag and into the hole that their beach umbrella had been setting in. Graham was overjoyed to have them returned and was happy for a happy ending to spring break.

Ring Lost In Little Manatee State Park, Recovered By SRARC.

Lee and Keith were out for a walk along the fence line to Little Manatee State Park close to Wimauma. A bee started to buzz around Lee’s head and she whipped her kerchief out of her pocket to swat it away and then realized that her rings had been stored for safe keeping in the kerchief. She heard to clunks as the ring flew across the fence and hit the brush on the other side. She and Keith climbed over the park fence to search and were able to find one of the rings. Later that night Lee came back with a flashlight hoping to find the reflection of the diamonds on the other ring. As she looked she noticed a reflection but on closer inspection it turned out to be a wolf spiders eyes and after shining the light around she spotted many more of them. About that time a park ranger came along and kindly informed Lee that she was not allowed in the park at that time of day and would need to come back through the official entry during the parks open hours. Almost a year later (the ring was lost last February) Lee found SRARC ring finders and contacted the club. Mike Miller made arrangements with the park ranger and a hunt was arranged for the following week. Mike and Joe Szemer met Lee and a ranger and were taken to the location. In about 5 minutes, Joe said “Hey Mike I got it”.  Both Lee and the ranger were in disbelief but had great big smiles on their faces. Lee gave them both a big hug and was extremely happy. We always love it when our hunt is a success and the lost item is returned.

Ring Lost On Longboat Key, Recovered By SRARC

Gwen and Scott were down from Atlanta on Longboat Key with their 4 children to honor their grandmother and spend a little time relaxing by the Gulf. Qwen was out in the water and on the wet sand tossing a ball around when she realized her wedding rings were missing. The family searched the areas where she had been but had no luck. When they returned to their condo, they googled and found SRARC ring finders. They talked with Howard Metts and he put out a request for help which both Robert Velarde and Mike Miller responded to. Mike and Robert meet Scott the next morning at the beach location and Scott explained where he thought the ring might have been lost. Mike and Robert went to work and after about an hour Mike had a good hit and out came the ring. Scott couldn’t believe we found it and was all smiles. He took the ring back to the condo and surprised his wife whom you can see was all smiles too. It was a pleasure for SRARC to have been able to find and return the lost treasured ring.
